This is a basic receiver that has a unusually good band coverage for its price. With an outside antenna attached to the built in antenna it can pull in a fair amount of stations and it has a nice dial for reading the frequency of each shortwave band. It is good as a travel radio when one doesn't like to take along an expensive portable  and provides good reception in RFPI's strong signal areas (Central America/Caribbean) and the Southern U.S. states (with outside antenna attached).
